How to Wash Your Extensions

For Straight and Wavy Extensions

Step 1: Gently brush or comb the hair from the tips to the roots before washing.

Step 2: Apply a small amount of the Sulfate-Free Shampoo to the hair only if the hair has product residue.

Step 3: Rinse hair thoroughly in lukewarm water, letting the water run down the hair.

Step 4: Apply conditioner to the hair, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse the hair thoroughly in lukewarm water, letting the water run down the hair.

Step 6: Gently squeeze the excess water, and allow the hair to dry completely.  Never use a brush or comb on wet hair without conditioner.

Step 7: When hair is completely dry, style as you desire.

For Kinky Curly Extensions

Step 1: Gently finger detangle the hair from the tips to the roots before washing or combing.

Step 2: Apply a small amount of the Sulfate-Free Shampoo if needed to the hair. We do not recommend using product on the hair other than light oils or light-weight leave conditioners such as Kinky Curly Knot Today. If you do not use product on the hair we recommend co-washing only because shampooing can be drying. We do not recommend using Cantu Leave In on the hair.

Step 3: Rinse hair thoroughly in lukewarm water, letting the water run down the hair. Do not bunch up the hair while washing.

Step 4: Apply conditioner to the hair, and let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse the hair thoroughly in lukewarm water, letting the water run down the hair.

Step 6: Gently squeeze the excess water, and scrunch the hair to help define the curls or put the hair into twists or braids.

Step 7: Allow the hair to dry completely.

Step 8: When the hair is completely dry, style as desired. DO NOT sleep on wet hair because it will tangle. If you want to let the hair air dry overnight please put the hair into twists or braids.

How to Prevent Shedding

For extra security, we recommend using a weft sealer to reinforce the durability of the weft as well as refraining from cutting the weft. This will prevent loose hairs from slipping out of the weft tracks. We also recommend limiting excessive use of heat and coloring on your extensions.

Loosely twist or braid your extensions and wrap it in a silk/satin bonnet/scarf, or sleep on a silk/satin pillowcase to minimize friction on the hair.

Avoid heavy styling products such as gel, cream and mousse which will weigh down the hair and cause tangling and matting issues.

How to Color Your Extensions

To achieve your desired color, we recommend consulting a professional colorist to do the work. We do not recommend bleaching/coloring the hair lighter than about a color 27.

When in doubt, treat it like your own......

Please understand that kinky curly textures are more prone to tangling. Please keep up with proper maintenance daily. We cannot refund or exchange hair that is not managed properly.
